Basic Install overview
- 76In no particular order a basic install would go as follows:
•In order for the panel to communicate and be powered a minimum of two wires need to be run from the location of the panel to the locations desired by customer for power, as well at the point the phone line comes into the house, Called the demarcations point.
•The panel can then be mounted in the location that is suitable for wires to be run, and connected to power and phone line.
•The door contacts will be put in place on the door or in the door frame depending on the type of door.
•The motion detector needs to be put up in a location that is best suited for the house. (The techs are trained to place this in the best location for the house).
•The smoke communicator will be put up in the highest level in the bedroom hallway due to fire regulations.
•The system will be programmed and tested by sending all of the “zones” to ADT making sure that everything is working properly.
•Then the technician will train on the system and answer any outstanding questions.
•This process takes an average of 4-5 hours.
